Expert seeks data-base for farmers

Agribusiness expert, Mr. Peter Igbinosun, has urged government at all levels to formulate policy geared towards documentation of farmers and make it agriculture attractive through the right incentives.
He listed such incentives to included lands, seeds, fertilisers, funds and other agricultural incentives to the real farmers, adding that “this will energise their passion for agriculture.”

Igbinosun, who is the immediate past out-grower manager, Rubber Estate
Nigeria Limited, stressed that there was the need for the nation to advance from peasant to commercial farming.
Speaking during the official inauguration of agro-service firm in Benin City, Igbinosun also urged government to equip farmers with modern technology in order to drive the needed change in the agriculture sector.
Besides, he said, funding of research institute was paramount in the agri-business revolution.
He disclosed that his vision was to train young people on the right information needed in producing agricultural products.
