Ezeh leads 20, 000 APC supporters back to PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Enugu state chapter was 20,000 members richer Tuesday when former members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state defected to join them.

They were led to the PDP by for candidate of the APC Enugu East senatorial in the last election, Lawrence Ezeh, (Prince of Mburubu), who also defected to the PDP.

The decampees were mostly members of Prince Ezeh campaign organisation, Aka Ekpuchi Onwa Campaign Organisation.

Receiving them to the PDP Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi applauded them to abandoning the APC, adding that Prince Eze did well to return to the PDP family, where he rightly belongs.

“Enugu state PDP is one united family. You left and you are now back. We welcome you back and say that we are happy, because you are very important to us”, the governor said stressing that their return was a “family affair”.

Ezeh, who had earlier thanked Nkanu East chapter of the party as well as the state and the government, thank the  governor for keeping tab on him all through the period he was absent from the party.

Speaking earlier Prince Ezeh said:“Before the elections, we were together; after the elections, we were also together, because you never allowed me to rest until I agreed to return to the PDP.

Prince Ezeh was a former key member of the PDP in the state before defected to the APC in 2018, after failing to secure the PDP ticket to contest Enugu East senatorial seat.

He lost to former governor of the state, Dr Chimaroke Nnamani, in the February 23, 2019 election.
