FA Cup: Supreme Court squad zoom into q/finals

Nigeria National League (NNL) side, Supreme Court FC of Abuja, yesterday overcame a scare from a non-league side, Lugbe United, to book a passage into the last eight of the ongoing Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Federation Cup competition.
The Apex Boys as the judiciary team are fondly called overran Lugbe United after a penalty shoot-out which ended 6-5 in their favour.

Before the match went into straight penalty, Supreme Court FC went ahead of the Lugbe side in the 75th minute but a blunder from Supreme Court defender, Oweicho Edoka, and goalkeeper, Daniel Uche, gifted Peter Anger of Lugbe United a 90th minute equalizer.

Piqued by the lackluster of his boys during the second stanza of the competition decided at Old Parade Ground, Abuja, Supreme Court FC Head Coach Henry Haggai told the players to brace up and be ready to face future challenges other than focus on any personal achievements or distractions.

Coach Haggai further asserted: “Our goal is to make the team understand that matches are not the same and that one team is different from the other. We will keep talking; it is only left for the players to carry out instructions on the field. There were no major changes in today’s game even though we have some injury concerns before the game.
“Even when I was away for a course, my assistant did well. We will continue to take every game as it comes.”
