False allegation: ADP chair drags ex-party scribe to court, demands N10bn

National Chairman of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) Engr. Yusuf Yabagi, has sued the expelled former National Secretary of the party, Dr James Okoroma, demanding for the sum of N10 billion as damage for falsely accusing him of forgery.

Engr. Sani is also asking the court to restrain the defendant from any further publication of the false allegations against him.

In a statement he personally signed, the ADP national chairman on Monday in Abuja, said the defendant severally in various publications defamed him and made some false allegations of forgery against him.

“In reaction to false allegations of forgery and other falsehood against me by Dr James Okoroma I have instituted a defamation suit against him and three others.

“In the defamation suit pending before the high court of the FCT I am claiming among other relieves N10 Billion in damages as well as an order restraining the defendant from any further publication of the false allegations against me.”
Before the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) recently expelled him, Okoroma and some other ADP national officers were in disagreement with the Engr Sani over the control of the party, leading to accusations and counter accusations bothering on anti-party activities, mismanagement of party fund, among others.
