Family laments murder of grandmother, kidnapping of daughter in Osun

The Aregbesola family of Ikire township in Irewole local government area of Osun state has lamented the alleged murder of their grandmother, Ramota Olabiyi and the kidnapping of their daughter, Oluwakemi Muritala by Ayee secret cult members in the state.

According to a statement made available to Blueprint Thursday by the family, the incident occurred at about 1:00am on April 20, this year.

Before her death, Olabiyi allegedly shouted to the hearing of her neighbours that a Michael Ogundare has killed her and taken her granddaughter away from her, but “the neighbours were afraid of the assailants because they were shooting in the air to scare people away”.

However, the neighbours were able to alert the police to come to her aid, but Olabiyi was found dead in a pool of her blood before the arrival of the police.

According to the family, despite carrying out a series of searches through the media and public hospitals for the members of the secret cult that allegedly killed Olabiyi and kidnapped Oluwakemi, “there is no clue on the whereabouts of Oluwakemi Muritala and the killers of Madam Ramota Olabiyi to bring the culprits to justice”.

“Anyone with relevant information should contact Chief Mustapha Aregbesola on  08054178704 or the nearest police station,” the family said.
