Father, son arrested for selling drugs to pupils

Operatives of the Police Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have arrested a father and his son for selling Tramadol and other hard drugs to primary and secondary school pupils at Itire Area of Lagos.
The father, Ibrahim Sheu, 40; and his son, Franku Ibrahim, 23; were arrested on Friday after officials of the Office of Education and Quality Assurance, Lagos state, alerted the squad about the incident.
The suspects, who are petty traders at a kiosk in Adedeji Bus Stop, Itire, were caught selling the drugs to school pupils, who were interrogated and later released to their parents.
Officials of the Lagos state ministry of education, on routine monitoring of schools around the area had got report of strange attitude of some of the pupils in the area and on investigation discovered traders selling tramadol and other hard drugs to pupils in the area.
Investigation by sqaud also confirmation the report leading to the arrest of the suspects, just as 72 pieces of Tramadol capsules, 28 tablets of Tramol and some other capsules were recovered from them.
Blueprint gathered that Sheu, who initially denied selling hard drugs to pupils, claiming his son sold the drugs to the pupils whenever he was not around, eventually confessed that both of them sold the drugs to the pupils.
A Police source, who confirmed the development, said the suspects have since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation department (SCID) for further investigation.
