FCE Okene tasks COEASU on growth, devt

The management of Federal College of Education (FCE) Okene has charged the newly elected executive members of the College branch of Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU), to extend a hand of fellowship to every member of the union for the growth and development of the institution.

This was contained in a statement signed by the College’s director of information,

Malam Jibril Abdulrahaman, in Lokoja on Friday.

The statement indicated that following the successful election of the Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU), Federal College of Education, Okene Branch, held on October 6, 2020, Comrade Muhammed Idris Japa emerged and was declared as the winner for the chairmanship position.

It further stated that the declaration was made after successful sorting and collation of results at 5.51pm on October 6, 2020, and the certified electoral result sheet signed by the duo of the electoral chairman, Dr. Innocent Ene, and the secretary, Dr. Ibrahim Mosimabele.

The statement noted further that the declaration indicated that Comrade Japa was duly elected having polled a total of 214 votes to emerge as the chairman ahead of Dr. Ismail Azeez who scored 188 votes.

The position of the vice-chairman, according to the statement, went to Uzoma Ige Janet who polled 202 votes ahead of Oba Unoiza who scored 197 votes and that the position of the secretary was won by Ibikunle Babatunde with 199 votes.

Other winners were: Obakachi Adeiza Abraham as assistant secretary; Omeiza Moses Eneji as treasurer; Achanya Salifu as financial secretary and Zubair Adams Yahaya as director of socials.

Also elected were: Ohiane Adams as the public relations officer and Dr. Yakusak Nicholas Samuel as the internal auditor.
