FCT ANCOPSS expresses satisfaction with conduct of JSS exam

The leadership of All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS) has expressed satisfaction with the conduct of Basic Examination Certificate Exam (BECE) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

FCT ANCOPSS President, Alh. Abdulkarim Abdulrahaman stated this in a chat with Blueprint over the weekend, noting that the JSS exam is going on without hitches amid COVID-19 pandemic.

Abdulrahaman, who is also the Principal of Junior Secondary School Zuba, applauded his colleagues for deploying extra efforts to see the success of the exam in their various schools.

“ANCOPSS is very satisfied with the conduct of BECE in the FCT. Prior to the final year exams, we had run some test for students that have to do with the second term examination. It was successful completed,” he explained.

The principal appreciated the FCT education Secretariat on the provision of face masks to all the students noting that the principals on their part were making concerted effort in ensuring staff and students adhere strictly to COVID-19 guidelines throughout the examination period.

The FCT ANCOPSS boss appealed to parents and guardians to be educating their wards to know the significance of wearing of masks, regular washing of hands and avoid close range even at home as well as in the school.

He noted that there were no reports of examination malpractices, adding that the seating arrangement of 20 or 30 students per class became a preventive measure in tackling the menace of cheating in the exams hall.

Commenting on whether the advent of the pandemic would affect the students’ performances, he expressed optimism that the students would do well in their final year exams due to the commitment and dedication of the teachers in grooming the young ones immediately schools were reopened in the FCT.

The BECE examination which commenced one week ago, on Monday 14, September 2020, in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) would end on 7th of October 2020 next.
