FCT indigenes set to organise carnival for Jonathan

Indigenes of the Federal Capital Territory, under the aegis of Abuja Original Inhabitants Coalition Groups, have concluded plans to stage a cultural carnival for President Goodluck Jonathan, as a mark of appreciation for his “transformation agenda in the territory”.
The proposed carnival, according to the organisers, was aimed at articulating the issues of Abuja indigenes in the next political dispensation.

Coordinating chairman of the group, Engr. Bussa Danjuma, told journalists at the weekend that the cultural carnival would showcase all the socio-cultural groups in the territory, noting that cultural fiesta would make more positive impact on the indigenes of the territory.
Bussa added that besides the cultural carnival, all the pressure groups in the territory had agreed to form a coalition group to support President Jonathan’s presidential bid in 2015, pointing out plans had been concluded to mobilise and sensitise other cultural groups in the territory.

He said: “We the original inhabitants of Abuja are known for rich cultural heritage. That is why we are planning to stage cultural fiesta instead of political rally to support President Goodluck Jonathan for 2015 Presidential elections in view of his transformational agenda for FCT.
“We are equally grateful for appointing Senator Bala Mohammed as FCT minister. The indigenes of FCT are captured in all the programmes of the administration as regards land swap model and the management of the political and administrative strata of the FCT.”
