FCT names major street after Air Chief Amao

The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Isiaka Oladayo Amao, has been recognised for his leadership efforts and commitment to community development by the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).

The council in a letter of approval signed by its Chief Revenue Officer, Mr. Danlami Zakunya, named a major drive within the municipal area after the Air Chief in appreciation of his contributions to national development.

The letter said the recognition is a way of expressing the council’s appreciation for his commitment to the nation’s security as well as his community development efforts.

The over 3 kilometre-drive will now bear Isiaka Oladayo Amao Drive, and it will also help entrench his name as a true friend of the council as he now falls within the ranks of notable Nigerians whose names have been immortalised through the naming of streets, avenues, close and drives in the fast developing nation’s capital city.

Section 7 and the 4th Schedule of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended, Local Government Act CAP 12 , LFN 2004 on street naming and House numbering Bye laws (11). 2012 of AMAC), empowers local government areas as well as area councils to name streets as well as number houses after deserving citizens.
