FCT Police arrest 2 ‘car snatchers’, recover stolen car, fake number plates


Operatives of the FCT Police Command has arrested two suspected car snatching along Dei-Dei axis of the territory.


The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the command, ASP Mariam Yusuf, in a press statement, Wednesday in Abuja, named the suspects as Abdullahi Mohammed, 37; and Mohammed Usman, 35.
She said they were arrested by Police operatives from Wuye Division on Monday, April 5, 2021, during a coordinated operation while attempting to dispose of a vehicle snatched at gun point along Tudun Wada axis of Niger state. 


The spokesperson said the suspects confessed to being members of a five-man syndicate operating along Niger-Abuja axis. 
She said exhibits recovered from them include: one ash coloured Toyota Corolla and two counterfeit number plates.


“Effort is being made to arrest the fleeing suspects and all the suspects will be arraigned in court upon conclusion of investigation.
