FCT Police nab 34 ‘cultists’, recover 2 pistols

The FCT Police Command has arrested 34 suspected cultists at their hideout in Gwako, Gwagwalada Area Council, even as two locally fabricated pistols were recovered at the scene.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the command, DSP Anjuguri Manzah, in a press statement, Monday in Abuja, said the suspects were arrested on Sunday while having their cult meeting following on tip-off.

The spokesperson listed the suspects, who include current and former students of different tertiary institutions as: Samuel Olatunji, 24; Osarentin Solace, 25; Emmanuel Jeremiah, 19; Silver Okemini, 32 years; Shedrach Joel, 25; Eraikhuemen Prince, 22; and Stephen Michael Momoh, 24.

Others are: Olusegun Samuel, 20; Peter Francis, 20; Olayinka James, 21; Joe Ntekim, 24; Godwin Udeze, 22; Abdulmuyes Babatunde, 24; Muhammed Isah, 20; Ogebe Michael, 22; Utibe Sunday, 19; and Redeem Chukwu, 22 years.

They also include: Onyilokwu Emmanuel ‘m’ 21 years, Michael Aigbologa ‘m’ 21 years, Samuel Dominic (ex-student), 27; Omonayin Bolawale, 21; Toheeb Ramon, 21; Samuel Abiodun, 20; Abdulsalam Duada, 20; Danladi Shuaibu; and Hezekiah Samuel.

Others are: Ubebe Samuel, 26; Ubebe Joseph, 22; Peter Mathias, 23; Stephen Jonah, 22; Caleb Ayemakbe, 20; Clark Idafe, 28; Paul Njoku, 27; and Bright Ejiofor, 27.

Manza, who said their arrest was part of efforts to rid the FCT of crimes, said the suspects would be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
