FCT Police nab 7 for robbery, cultism, kidnapping

The FCT Police command has arrested seven suspects for armed robbery, cultism, and kidnapping, even as exhibits have been recovered from the suspects.

The command disclosed this in a press statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Mariam Yusuf, Sunday in Abuja.

IT read in part, “In furtherance with its determination to rid the FCT of criminal elements, the FCT Police Command has arrested seven suspects for armed robbery, cultism and kidnapping along Kabusa, Bwari, Kwali, Gwagwalada and Abaji axis

“The suspects were arrested during different coordinated intelligence operation in the month of January.

“The suspects are: Chidindu Nonso, 32; Sunday Atu, 26; Elisha Matthias, 20; Neche Isaac, 25; Felix Isaiah, 29; all male.

“Amongst the suspects are: Mohammed Bello, 25; and Sani Usman, 26; arrested for armed robbery and attempted kidnap of their victim along Abaji axis.”

The spokesperson said exhibits recovered from the suspects are: one mobile phone, and N60,000 allegedly belonging to their victim as well two cutlasses.

She said six locally fabricated pistols, eight unexpended cartridges, one saw, one hammer, one cutlass, and one jack knife, was also recovered from the suspects.

All the suspects, she said would be arraigned in court upon conclusion of investigation.

“While enjoining residents to remain calm, law-abiding and comply with all Covid-19 regulations, the Command wishes to reiterate its unflinching commitment to the protection of lives and property within the FCT.
