FCT Police reacts after killing of one chance ‘robbers’ by mob

The FCT Police Command has condemned the killing of three suspected one chance robbers by an angry mob, Monday morning at Dutse Alhaji, a suburb of Abuja.

A press statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the command, DSP Anjuguri Manzah, Monday in Abuja, said: “According to preliminary information, the suspected one chance robbers were burnt to death by the angry mob following an alarm raised by their yet to be identified victim.”

He said, “The Command unequivocally condemns the action of the angry mob that resorted to meting out jungle justice on the suspects instead of handing them over to the Police for discreet investigation and prosecution.”

While reassuring the public of its unwavering commitment to fight one chance robbery and reduce the crime to its barest minimum, the command enjoined the public to be security-conscious and report all suspicious persons or activities to the nearest police formation.

The spokesperson said the command could also be contacted through the Command Control Room on the following Police emergency numbers: 08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653 and 08028940883.
