The FCT Police Command has advised residents to observe necessary precautionary and safety measures when handling and transporting gas cylinders.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the command, DSP Anjuguri Manzah, gave the advice in statement, Friday in Abuja, in reaction to a gas explosion, Friday in Asokoro, a suburb of the FCT.
According to him, “On October 4, 2019 at 1600hrs a gas cylinder that was left in a car, owned by a gas supplier, exploded in Asokoro causing damage to the car. Fortunately, no fatality was recorded from the incident.”
Manzah, who restated the command’s commitment to the protection of lives and property in FCT, urged residents to contact the Police, in case of distress, through any of the Police emergency numbers: 08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653 and 08028940883.
