FCT: Scores dump opposition parties for APC

Th e secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Gaube ward of Kuje Area Council was a beehive of activity last weekend when the party received hundreds of members from three opposition political parties who moved into the ruling party APC in Kuje.

Parties that lost members included the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP], the All Progressive Grant Alliance [APGA] and others from opposition parties from several parts of the area council.

Former councillor in Kuje Area Council, Mr. Musa Kaka, who led hundreds of his decamping supporters to join the ruling APC in Gaube ward said their movement to the party was a sign of goodwill that the APC has started enjoying in the Federal Capital Territory with the outstanding performance of its elected offi cials.

Also among the decampees were, Philibus Tada, Haruna Dara, Engineer James Amiokhe, PDP ethnics Woman Leader of the Council, Mrs. Suzanna Bathlomin and other top members of the PDP and APGA.

Th e decampees were received by Local Government party Chairman, Mr. Godwin Poyi alongside, council speaker, Hon.  Samson Gomna Woziri.

In their separate remarks, the decampees said, they left their respective parties for the APC because only the APC has hope for the country and Kuje Area Council in particular.

APC party chairman, Godwin Poyi, said the Kuje executive chairman who could not attend the ceremony sent a representative to express appreciation of the massive vote of confi dence that the APC now enjoys from people, stressing that the support was responsible for his victory during the recent FCT area council election.
