FCT senatorial seat: Ex-perm sec joins race

An aspirant for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) senatorial seat, Dr Aboki Zhawa, a retired permanent secretary, has declared his interest for the position under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Making the declaration at the party’s secretariat in Abuja, Zhawa said he decided to bring his wealth of experience to bear in the Senate because of the persistent failure of the PDP candidate currently occupying the position.

According to him, “you are not sending me to the Senate to construct boreholes as has been the case over the years, but to initiate concrete bills that can bring about positive transformation in the territory.

“I am the only longest serving permanent secretary and I understand the problems and structure of the territory since I was part of its creation”.
His director of campaign, Sam Eke, said the era of money politics was over, therefore, the people of the territory would not be deceived any longer by politicians, who had hijacked the slot for years without any corresponding value.
