FCT SWAN to hold green carpet nite

The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria SWAN, FCT, Chapter will on the 10th of this month hold a “Green Carpet Nite” as part of activities  marking  the two year in office of its current executive committee.

The event which is in partnership with the office of the senior special assistant to the President on Youth and Students Matters and John Utaka Foundation, holds at WestPoint Hotel Abuja.

Activities heralding the event will commence today with courtesy call on some sports federations. The director general of the National Orientation Agency, Mike Omeri, is to deliver a paper on “Do The Right Thing-Keep Sports Alive” tomorrow at 11 am at the Velodrome, National Stadium, Abuja.
After the paper by Omeri, the director-general National Agency for Food Drugs Administration and Control, NAFDAC, Dr. Paul Ohii, will take members on a topic “Pre-Cautionary Measures on Food and Drugs Administration – Sports Perspective” by noon at the same venue.

On Wednesday, April 9, Pen Strikers will take on FCT Coaches XI in a top-flight friendly match at the Area 3, Play Ground, Garki, Abuja.
According to the chairman organizing committee of the event, Ndubueze Chidoka, “We also hope to honour and appreciate some people who have assisted in moving sports forward in the country”.
Our members who have remained steadfast in the course of taking sports to greater heights in the FCT will also be feted”.
