FG acquires Boeing Simulator for Aviation College

 

The Federal government efforts aimed at upgrading the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology NCAT in Zaria received a boost with the acquisition of a Boeing 737 full moon flight simulator for the training institution. 

Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika took to his Twitter handle to announced the feat on Sunday in Montreal, Canada. 

He affirmed that the simulator will save the country foreign exchange hitherto expended by airlines in training abroad for Pilots. 

Sirika twitted “In Montreal Canada, received Boeing 737 full moon flight simulator for NCAT Zaria. Ready for shipment in March. This will increase NCAT’s capability, to save forex and reduce cost incurred by our airlines. A well trained, proficient pilot is number one key to safety.”

The news was received with enthusiasm in the industry as many stakeholders described it as a great feat for the year. 

Rector of NCAT, Captain Abdulsallami Mohammed had told journalists in Lagos that “When we have that simulator installed, we will be able to offer type-rating courses on that B737NG. Now, as part of our plans for the future, we also made provision for a second simulator.”
