FG budgets N505.5m for Villa staff’s welfare, computers

The Presidency is proposing the sum of N505.556 million on welfare packages and other services within the State House.

A breakdown of the amount revealed that N240,730,180 million will go for welfare packages of staff, N79,075,136 million on office stationeries/computer consumables, N66,669,965 million on office, N48,061,943 million on computer software acquisition, N39,773,525 to purchase sporting/gaming equipment, and N33,256,161 million expected to be spent on financial consulting.

For the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s office, N119, 357,548 million has been set aside for the acquisition of computer software, while another N6, 400,000 is being proposed for purchase of 2 Nos photocopying machines and accessories which is an ongoing expenditure.  

For the office of the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, N2, 149,998, N2, 356,200, and N2, 631,388 are variously being proposed for the purchase of computers, purchase of computers printers and purchase of photocopying machines respectively.

At the National Emergency Management Authority (NEMA), the agency is proposing to spend N75,933,977 million on internet access charges, N53,959,022 million for software charges/license renewal and N20,546,878 million on  maintenance of office/IT equipments.

While the privatization agency, the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), proposes to spend N30, 946,022 million to acquire computer software.

It would be recalled that the federal government in an attempt to cut down on its expenditure cut the budget figure by N300 billion to N8.83 trillion in 2019 from N9.16 trillion in 2018.
