FG deploys android tablets for annual school census exercise

The federal government has deployed Android Tablets for the conduct of the 2018/2019 Annual School Census exercise.
The Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu stated this on Tuesday while flagging off the exercise in Abuja.

Speaking on the theme of this year’s school census exercise, “Mobile Technology: A Veritable Tool for Enhancing the Generation of Credible, Reliable and Timely Education Data,” the minister said, “The introduction of a mobile technology to generate credible, reliable and timely data from the remote site/school in the thirty-six (36) States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)”, would “enhance educational planning and research, decision-making, national and global reporting.”

He urged, “all stakeholders especially head teachers and principals who are the custodians of school records and the main drivers of the process to accurately complete the Annual School Census forms using the Mobile Technology.”

The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Arc. Sonny Echono, tasked school heads across the country on the need to take the exercise seriously.
“All the States are, therefore, charged to take this important exercise serious and most importantly to generate official basic and post-basic education data, through the use of mobile technology.”
