FG determined to complete abandoned, ongoing projects- minister

The federal government has reiterated its determination to complete all ongoing projects, especially abandoned projects in different parts of the country.

FCT Minister of State, Hajia Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, made this known Monday in Abuja when she led a delegation on an inspection tour of projects in different parts of Gwagwalada Area Council.

Those in her entourage included FCT Permanent Secretary, Sir Christian Ohaa,  Gwagwalada Area Council chairman, Hon. Adamu Mustapha Danze, among others.

Addressing newsmen during a brief visit to the palace of Agora of Zuba, Aliyu said the government of President Muhammadu Buhari was determined to make sure that all projects are completed for the benefit of Nigerians and not just as monuments.

She said: “We are visiting some places, especially Gwagwalada Area Council, to inspect abandoned projects, ongoing projects, intended projects that are yet to kickstart; for they are also in the interest of Mr President. He has made it very clear that all ongoing projects must be completed in this administration, for projects are conceived to be beneficial to citizens, not as monuments.

“So, we must complete all ongoing projects, identify abandoned projects to complete and put them to use for the benefit of citizens. We visited the Agora palace to identify with him and the things that ought to be done: ongoing or abandoned projects, including  schools, skill acquisition centres, roads, healthcare facilities, etc. The courtesy call is to open way for more visits.”

Expressing gratitude for the visit, the Agora of Zuba, Alhaji Engr. Mohammed Bello Umar, prayed for God to continue blessing Nigerian leaders, even as he implored the minister to work with the FCT minister to continue delivering democratic dividends to FCT residents.
