‘FG empowered 7m under its social investment progammes’

The federal government has engaged about seven million people under its social investment programmes, in a renewed effort to jerk up employment generation for the mass of the people.
This was made known by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Social Investment progamme, Barr Ismaila Amed while briefing newsmen after a meeting with beneficiaries of the N-Power, cash transfer, home grown feeding of primary pupils and soft loan programmes in Dutse, Jigawa state over the weekend.
He said that he was in the state as part of his nationwide tour to states to assess the programmes, listen to complaints and success stories of the schemes, with a view to reporting back to President Muhammad Buhari for his attention.
Barr Ahmed disclosed that, under the home grown feeding scheme, a total of 2.5million class one to three primary school pupils will benefit across the country, stating further that 500,000 graduates have been employed under the N-Power, while 700,000 have enjoyed Cash Transfer while hundreds of thousands of women have been engaged to cook food for primary pupils in the country, adding that soft loan was granted to hundreds of thousands of youth all in an effort to make them self employed.
The SSA stated that the value chain was very high, saying that the president said this was not enough even as more social programmes were under way.
He disclosed that 3,253 youth have benefited from the N- Power programme in Jigawa while about 50,000 have benefited from cash transfer with hundreds also having access to soft loan, adding that 200,000.00 pupils are to benefit from the home grown feeding scheme in the state.
