FG hands over released Dapchi girls to parents

It was another joyful day to parents and people of Dapchi community in Yobe state yesterday as the federal government reunited them with their missing daughters after 31 days of hostage by the Boko Haram insurgents.
The returning students, who were accompanied by heavy security personnel and some stakeholders, were received in the school premises of the institution they were abducted from by the insurgents amid cheers and jubilation from parents and the people of Dapchi and environs.
Speaking at the gathering, the member representing Gujba, Gulani, Damaturu, Tarmuwa, Yunusari and Dapchi at the House of Representatives, Bukar Goni, informed the gathering that all the students were found to be in good health condition and thanked the President, the Yobe state governor and all Nigerians for their support throughout the period of their captivity.
Goni called on parents never to be discouraged particularly with girl-child education as government had set up measures to forestall future occurrence.
The federal law maker also tasked the students to take their studies seriously as there is no alternative to educational development.
Some parents of the abducted school girls appreciated all efforts towards the rescue of the girls and called for proactive measures in curtailing future reoccurrence.
Also in a chat with Blueprint, father of the yet to be released Dapchi school Girl, Nathan Sharibu, refuted media claim that his daughter Leah had been released by the insurgents.
Sharibu told our correspondent at the family resident yesterday in Dapchi that, his daughter was still in captivity and expressed optimism that with the prayers and support of all Nigerians, his daughter will soon regain freedom.
He pleaded with President Muhammadu Buhari to leave by his words in ensuring that Leah is released without any further conditions to enable her continue with her education.
Blueprint gathered that, the final year students in SSS III ready to write WAEC and NECO examinations have already been relocated to Government Girls College, Nguru.
