FG making service delivery more compact for Nigerians – SERVICOM

The federal government is set to ensure that service delivery improvement becomes more paramount and service standards more compact in MDAs’ service wide.

This disclosure was made on Tuesday when the National Coordinator / CEO SERVICOM,  Mrs Nnenna Akajemeli, paid an advocacy visit to the Head of Service of the Federation in Abuja.

According to a press release issued by the Public Awareness Manager SERVICOM, Henrietta Okokon, what could help MDA’s to succeed is to standardize services through service charters at the various service windows that would create vivid awareness to Nigerian citizens as service takers.

According to Akajemeli, once there are standardised service charters, it will enshrine trust and guide obligations at the service windows.

The SERVICOM national coordinator further said the service charters are a contract that would streamline responsibilities by service givers and would bring to bear all the aspirations of the service takers into reality.

She also appealed for synergy between the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation to work together as a team by ensuring that MDA’s break their services to measurable standards.

The SERVICOM boss also called on MDA’s to institutionalise their performances and make services more compact which would at the long run change the narratives for Nigerians.

This she said, “Can only be achieved if we close some service delivery gaps by implementing improved capacity for the public servant.”

Akajemeli informed the Head of Service that SERVICOM is positioned to introduce service delivery courses at the Nassarawa State University that would be entrenched in the consciousness of the students and would also enrich excellent service delivery processes in Nigeria.

In her welcome remarks, the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Folasahade Yemi Esan, said that it was important for SERVICOM to understudy the Strategic plan of her office which would drive the synergy required for MDA’s in their service delivery processes.

She pointed out that there are huge gaps between the MSU’s the CEO’s  of MDA’’s and called for the MSU’s to understand the Mechanisms of their work schedules and do the right thing that would ensure improved service delivery in  organisations.
