FG restates commitment to partner with grains farmers

The federal government says it is committed to its partnership Amana Farmers and Grains Suppliers Association of Nigeria (AFGSAN), as it would boost Agribusiness development and job creation in the country.

A statement signed by an Information staff in the ministry Mr Abdulahad A Nawani, quoted the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD), Alhaji Muhammad Sabo Nanono as saying this when he played host to Amana Farmers and Grains Suppliers Association led by its Chairman, Alhaji Haruna Ahmed Pambegua Wednesday in Abuja.

Alhaji Sabo Nanono noted that the partnership would achieve the government’s goal of creating the desired value chain effect, promote global market access of Nigerian branded products with massive job creation and increase Internally generated revenue for the country.

In his remark the Permanent Secretary, FMARD, Dr. Mohammed Umar Bello, thanked the association for doubling their effort towards  supporting  the current  administration ‘s agenda by buying into the federal government’s intervention policies.

In his remarls, AFGSAN Chairman, Alhaji Haruna Ahmed Pambegua, applauded government’s agricultural agenda and vision of making the sector the biggest employer of labour.

He added that with strategic linkage of processing and marketing of products, it would reduce Nigeria’s huge income inequality, boost production and economic activities in the rural areas.
