FG restates resolve to develop abundant gas resources

The Federal Government has reiterated its resolve to explore Nigeria’s vast gas potential for the country’s prosperity.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Nigeria International Petroleum Summit (NIPS) on Monday in Abuja, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources Timipre Sylva insisted that Nigeria is ready to utilize her natural gas resources to drive industrial development.

“At the heart of this administration is the vision to drive infrastructure and industrial development of the country in order to prosper her citizens and make life more meaningful to all. Natural gas ticks all the boxes as the vehicle to help government achieve the aspiration and that is why we embraced the resource to help turn around the economy.

“Thankfully, our reliable partner, the Nigeria LNG Limited is not backing out. They are fully backing this initiative all the way.

President Muhammadu Buhari, has demonstrated, enough zeal to leave no doubt that his vision of using the country’s vast natural gas resources to lift Nigeria into the league of top industrialized nations in the next decade is not a matter of rhetoric,” he said.
