FG secures 5.6 hectares to build secretariat in Taraba

The Federal Controller of Housing, Taraba Field Office of the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, Alhaji Ahmed Rabiu, Sunday, stated that the federal government has secured a 5.6 hectares of land in Jalingo, the Taraba state capital from the state government to construct a Federal Secretariat Complex.

Ahmed, who stated this during an exclusive interview with Blueprint in Jalingo said all the procedures required for the award of the contract had almost been completed for the take off of the project.

He noted that the project, when completed, would improve the economy of the state.

He said the secretariat project would be situated at the present  Trade Fair ground close to the Taraba state secretariat complex.

He hinted that the state has already approved a new site for the trade fair complex opposite the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp along Wukari Jalingo Federal High Way.

Rabiu, who is a town planner, said the contractor handling the secretariat project is ready to construct a parameter fence as well as  build pavilions inside the new complex.

He lauded Governor Ishaku for his magnanimity and support to the ministry in the execution of its projects in the state.

He appealed to the governor to facilitate the payment of the N9 million compensation for the new trade fair complex approved land, adding that the contractor is already on standby to commence work as soon as the compensation is paid.
