FG set to provide legal framework in automotive industry


 
The Federal Government has said it would provide legal framework to enhance Nigeria’s automotive industry and boost transportation and agricultural development production in cost effective and affordable means.


The Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami Abubakar, who stated this at the design of Nigeria applicable mini taxi and tractor with theme: “Give your ideas wheels” in Abuja on Monday, commended Nigerian youths for showcasing their creativity in automative design concepts.


The minister said it was a commendable effort in promotion of innovation and solutiona applicable for the nation challenges in mechanical, Agricultural and public transportation.
He said the youth’s efforts would translate into greater savings of foreign exchange and in relations to which Nigerians spend close to $8billion annually . 


“It will also afford saving and earning the foreign exchange for the country through restrictive importation of Automobile and creation of employment by way of industrial facts ,” he said.
Also, the Deputy Governor of Ondo state, Mr Agboola Ajayi, urged the country to look at the best way to sustain Electric motors. 


He commended the federal government policy on the ban of importation and border closure, a development he said would make Nigerians embrace made in Nigeria products . 
“We will start seeing the results by building the Future of Nigeria . We will continue to create an enabling environment to avoid inconsistency policy,” he said .
