The training was held at Okaleru hall, Ezza North local government area.

The program manager of  the National Orientation Agency, Uchenna Unah, in a lecture on FGM noted that why women were chosen  for the job was because the harmful practice has to do with women.

“Why we choose women for this is because it has to do with them, because women are the once that will carry their girl children for circumcision.  We want the women to look downwards into the communities to make sure that no one would carryout this obnoxious practice,  to stop anyone  that does that by bringing  the person to the book.

Mr Una further noted that “state government  is seriously looking for someone  to jail on FGM”.

Barrister Ijeoma Ajanwachukwu of the state ministry of justice also lectured  the people on the Violence  Against Person Prohibition  law 2018 of the state government, and the child right law to equip them for the job ahead of them.

Members  of the surveillance team were mainly leaders and secretaries of various women organizations in the twelve  communities
