Barrister Umar S Gonto has been appointed the acting Managing Director/ Chief Executive of the Federal Housing Authority.
His appointment followed the expiration of the term of the Professor Mohammed Al-Amin led management on 6th May,2019.
Blueprint learnt that the acting MD of FHA was the most senior staff of the agency when the tenure of the Al-Amin expired on May 6.
However, following the Federal Government guidelines on succession, Gonto, being the most senior staff was given approval to act in the acting capacity.
Before this appointment, Gonto was the General Manager Legal/ Secretary to the Board of Directors of FHA. He attended the University of Maiduguri, where he graduated with an LLB ( Hons ) in 1986. He finished from the Law School in 1987.
He is a member of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), International Bar Association (IBA). He is also a member of Chartered Institute of Mediators and Conciliators.
