The International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), has said it would not relent in her quest to provide succours to the downtrodden especially those denied justice in Anambra State.
The Country Vice President (CVP) and President of FIDA Nigeria, Rhoda Prevail Tyoden, who stated this at first Quarter National Executive Committee meeting cum commissioning of the State chapter’s FIDA Centre (secretariat building) in Awka, promised an open door to justice seekers.
According to Tyoden, the new centre which was first of its kind would also be known as a centre for preserving, promoting and protecting people rights.
She also performed the unveiling of the National plague, as well as lauded the leadership style of FIDA Anambra Chairperson, Prof. Oguguo Ikpeze, adding that the establishment was a clear statement of passion the state chapter has for the things of the association.
“I came to Anambra in 2019 on a mission to restore peace to FIDA Anambra and ended up suspending six members of FIDA Anambra. I’m happy that my return to Anambra is to see a new Anambra FIDA restored, rebranded and in new shape,” she maintained.
In her address, the Anambra State FIDA Chapter Chairperson, Prof Oguguo Ikpeze, praised the efforts of their members in completing the centre, which she said was not an easy task.
Ikpeze, while recalling that the project commenced with granting their request for land on April 20th, 2011, and laying of the foundation on June 23rd same year by the then Chief Judge of Anambra State, Hon. Justice P. A. C. Obidigwe, promised that the chapter would continue to soar higher.
