Nigeria’s Women under-20 team, Falconets have a crucial date to keep with China on Monday after they dislodged Haiti in their second group match in the ongoing FIFA Women U-20 World Cup in France.
The Falconets currently occupy second place in the group after China fell 2-0 to leaders Germany.
Nigeria now need at least a draw with China to go past the group stage.
The Nigerian team improved their chances of qualifying for the knockout rounds of the 2018 FIFA U20 World Cup in France after they defeated Haiti 1-0.
Nigeria took the lead in the 36th minute from the penalty spot after Anam Imo was fouled inside the box and skipper Rasheedat Ajibade made no mistake to put away.
Impressive debutants Haiti chased the game especially at the start of the second half as they took full control of the game.
Goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie pulled off several saves thereafter to deny the Haitians a deserved equaliser to stay in contention for a place in the next round of the bi-ennial championship
