Fight against Boko Haram ‘ll wax stronger – Minister

The Minister of Defence, Maj. Gen. Bashir Magashi (Rtrd), has said that the fight against Boko haram would continue to be stronger until the insurgents are totally eliminated.

The Minister said this while addressing troops of Sector 3 Operation Lafiya Dole at the camp in Gubio, Borno state.

He said the country has achieved tremendous success against the terrorists since the inception of Muhammadu Buhari administration, and would never back down until total defeat of terrorism is achieved.

“Between 2015 to date a lot of achievement has been recorded and we will not go back,” he said.

” I am here on the instance of Mr. President to thank you for tour commitment, courage and doggedness.

“I was ones like you. Now I’m the minister of defence., but I can’t defend this country without you. Loyalty and courage is our motto. We will continue to give you the best support to fight Boko haram.

” I assure that in no distance time all this  will come to past and we will one day celebrate….we will finish this operation and go back home safely.

“We will do our best to take care of your welfare. The government is ready to give you more. Do you best an expect the best from us.”

Earlier while briefing the Minister and the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, at the Military Command and Control Centre Operations Lafiya Dole, Theater Commander Operation Lafiya Dole, Maj. Gen. Olusegun Adeniyi, assured that Nigerian Military is fully in charge of Maiduguri and the entire North-east, contrary to social media reports that Maiduguri is falling in the hand of Boko haram.

He said such negative information about Maiduguri and the entire North east on the social media were being perpetrated by Boko haram collaborators and sympathizers.

“Maiduguri is not falling. Magumerj and Gubio are not falling and isl not going to fall,” he said.

” The Theater Command is in charge of the north east and we are going to continue to be stronger.

“I want to assure of unflinching loyalty of troops under my command to the President, Commander -in-Chief the as stipulated by the constitution.

“We are ready, willing and committed to implementing the directive of the Commander -in-Chief.”

The Minister also visited Super Camp of the Nigerian Army Special Forces Command in Chabbol where he inspected the ongoing project in the camp.

He also visited recuperating soldiers at the Military Hospital at the Maimalari Cantonment Maiduguri.
