After weeks of speculations and political intrigues, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state has finally dumped his deputy, Chief Crowther Seith, and picked the Vice Chancellor of Adamawa State University (ADSU) Mubi, Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta, as his running mate in 2023.
This was confirmed by the Director General Media and Communications to the Governor, Mr. Solomon Kumangar, in Yola on Thursday.
Blueprint gathered that the decision to replace the current deputy governor with Prof. Farauta, who is from the same area with the deputy governor followed extensive consultations with critical PDP stakeholders and socio-cultural groups from Numan Federation, especially Pene da Bwate, an umbrella body of all Bachama people.
Pundits attributed the governor’s decision to replace his deputy to political exigency to win the support of the womenfolk in the state following the emergence of Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani as APC gubernatorial flag bearer in the state.
