In Adamawa, Fintiri proposes N140bn budget for 2021

Governor Ahmadu umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state,has presented a budget estimate of N140bn to the state House of Assembly for consideration and approval in 2021 financial year.

Presenting the budget yesterday at the floor of the state House of Assembly, Gov. Fintiri said that,the 2021 budget estimates have a capital.expenditures of N72,817,892,910.00 representing 52& of the total budget and recurrent expenditures of N63,216,516,530 bn respectively representing 48 Fintiri further explained that government is also considering plan to access long term finance from the capital market by floating bonds to finance some viable projects in the budget.

According to him, the completion of all ongoing projects is aimed at reducing the stock of uncompleted projects in 2021 which is inline with the principle of his administration and aspirations of the people of the state.

He also enumerated the sources the administration intents to drive it’s revenue to finance the budget which includes statutory allocations which he put at over N40bn others are value added tax N618,818641,535.00,stamp duty N2,000.000.000.00, internally generated revenue N12.125,500.000.00 among other sources.

The governor further noted that the board of internal revenue has been revamped with appreciable improvements in the state monthly revenue collections despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He detailed some of the achievements recorded by his administration in the last financial year especially in the areas of education, health, security, civil service reforms, youths and women empowerment among others and vowed to sustain the gains in this financial year.

He called on the lawmakers to consider and approve the budget in the interest of the state and its people to enable the administration continue with it’s people’s oriented policies and programmes to improve the living conditions of the citizens.
