FIRC partners KCRC on free computer training

Federal Information Resource Centre (FIRC) in synergy with Kaduna Community Resource Centre (KCRC) yesterday commenced two-week free computer training for youth and adults who wish to take career in information technology in the country, especially those in the North-west zone.
The programme, which aimed to empower the trainees, would provide them with training in three major categories which included basic computer, computer engineering and computer networking.

The Centre Director, Malam Abdulfattah Yusuf, told Blueprint that the rationale behind the training was to reduce the rate of unemployment among the teeming youths by a way of teaching them purely practical under community computer literacy programme.
“We are going to give them system to disassemble, discover the component and fix because it is purely practical,” he said.

“We want to see how young Nigerians can take career in information technology. We are starting it on empowerment ground as it will also increased reading habit among people thereby bringing back the reading culture which is gradually going into extinction.
“People who want to do something for themselves should tap into the opportunity offered because the tuition fee is free. It will be a continuous exercise so that we can accommodate more people from other places outside Kaduna.”
