Firm donates 50 desks, chairs to Edo school

As part of efforts to address inadequate facilities in the nation’s education sector, the Managing Director of Integrated Data Service Limited, (IDSL), Dr. Joseph T. Dawha, has donated 50 sets of 2-in-1 classroom chairs and desks to Oba Ewuare Grammar School in Benin City, Edo state capital.

Dawha, who lamented the pathetic state of facilities in public schools, said the gesture was part of IDSL   rolled-over community projects for the year 2013.
“And as corporate organization that places premium on education, we decided that we must keep faith and ensure our commitment to the promise to provide this very basic facility to the school is fulfilled” he stated.

Represented by the Public Affairs Manager of the firm, Mr. Samson Makoji, the MD disclosed: “We have picked Ewuare Grammar School as an extension of IDSL and we shall continue to revive its interest in our annual budget”.
According to him, “Our intentions are based on the fact that education is the bedrock of any society and therefore very pivotal in the socio-economic development of every nation and if the education system is bereft of basic facilities to make students comfortable in learning, then it would not have achieved its essence.

“We cannot underscore the importance of education to society. That is why governments at various levels too have shown considerable interest in making education at the reach of all particularly at the basic level.
“Consequently, we have endeavored at every given opportunity to support the schools in meeting some of their basic needs through the donation of a block of six classrooms for Ekhaguere Primary school and several donations in  2009 and 2011.”
