First Baptist Church honours deacons, deaconess


 
First Baptist Church, Gwagwalada in Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has honoured its two deacons and a deaconess for their meritorious service to the church for 15 years.
They are Deacon Victor Asade, Deacon Stephen Opadere and Deaconess Deborah Amao.
In a sermon to mark the 15 years appreciation and honorarium service for them, the Minister in charge of the church, Reverend Deji Oyelami described them as “good ambassadors of Christ.”


Reverend Oyelami said, “the church would remain grateful for their godly leadership roles you have offered for Baptist family within and outside the Federal Capital Territory.”
He used the occasion to admonished christian leaders to always be faithful in the discharge of their duties wherever they found themselves
According to him, everyone will give account of their stewardship before God hence the need for individual to be upright in his or her endeavour.


The clergyman also enjoined Christians to be committed to the service of God and humanity to ensure a fulfilled life.


In their separate remarks, the beneficiaries, Deacon Victor Asade, Deacon Stephen Opadere and Deaconess Deborah Amao appreciated God for giving them the opportunity to serve in his vineyard.


While praying for God’s continuous guidance on the church, they expressed gratitude to all members of First Baptist Church in Gwagwalada for their support and cooperation over the years.
Highlights of the appreciation service were the prayers and presentation of gifts to the beneficiaries.
