Flying Eagles escape EFCC arrest in Abuja

Nigeria’s Flying Eagle’s on Saturday came from behind to beat EFCC FC 2-1 in a friendly preparatory to 2023 U20 Africa Cup of Nations.

The match was played at the FIFA goal project located inside package B of Moshood Abiola National stadium in Abuja.

EFCC took the lead through their striker Masoud Danjuma, after he bulldozed his way through the defensive stalwart of Bamaiyi and his centre pair to finish off clinically, leaving goalkeeper Nathaniel Nwosu with no chance of pulling off a save.

Flying Eagles Captain, Yahaya Ibrahim led his side by example with a quick fire response to restore parity shortly after a restart from center circle.

At 1-1, the Nigerian U20 side had a renewed vigor and powered their way through EFCC’s defense on a number of occasions, making several incursions in their search for another goal.

The breakthrough finally came when Bilyamin capitalised on a defensive error of EFCC’s last man in the line of defense and calmly slotted in the second goal from close proximity to the goalkeeper to make it 2-1 at regulation time.

The Flying Eagles will continue their preparations with a double header friendly against the junior Chipolpolo of Zambia on January 27 and 30 respectively in Abuja.
