FMST to cite projects in Karu council

The Federal Ministry of Science and Technology is to initiate concrete science-based programmes and projects in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa state.

The Minister of State in the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, Barr. Mohammed Abdullahi disclosed this when the Chairman of Karu Local Government in company of traditional rulers paid him a courtesy visit in his office on Thursday in Abuja.

Abdullahi said Karu is the nearest Local Government to the nations capital and deserves to have essential infrastructure that would benefit its cosmopolitan inhabitants.

He further said the Ministry will painstakingly support Karu L.G, to help re-orientate children to embrace and study Science and its related subjects.

“Nations develop because of Technology and Innovation; we have many research institutes developing research in various fields for commercialization to add value to the society.”

The Minister reiterated his commitment to the infrastructural development of Karu Local Government Area, and would encourage the opportunity to facilitate the relevant agencies of the Ministry to champion developmental projects in the area.

He also mooted the initiation of affordable housing schemes for staff of the Ministry who reside in Karu L.G.A, due to its close proximity to the nation’s capital.

Earlier, the Chairman of Karu Local Government Area Mr. Samuel Akala, said they will seek closer collaboration with the Ministry in many areas of mutual benefit.

The Etsu of Karu, who heads the Traditional Council of Karu L.G.A, Luka Panya-Baba, praised the Minister of State for his past achievement while serving in Nasarawa state and offered royal fatherly prayers for his continual success in office.
