Food security: Firm empowers 563 farmers in Nasarawa

Vintor and sons global enterprises, a farmer friends project, Sunday,  empowered 563 farmers in Nasarawa state in a bid to boast food security in the state.


Director-General of the firm Mr. Vincent Iyev revealed this during the distribution of the farm inputs in Lafia.
He said the firm was able to give out farm inputs to 563 farmers across Nasarawa, Benue and Taraba states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in the sum of N8 million for 2021 farming season with the projection of additional 1000 farmers to benefit from the gesture.


He said the farmers were given herbicides, sprayers, rain boats, raincoats, gloves among others in an affordable price, and to be for paid after harvest. 
“Our target is also to create a dynamic organisation with tangible test that will offer standard and qualitative services to the satisfaction of our farmers in all fields of Agricultural production and utilization,” he said.


He said the move also led to the formation of a network of ethically-motivated and professional personnel that deliver unique, standard and  comprehensive services to its clients.


He therefore, appealed to the Nasarawa state government to support the firm towards ensuring food security in the state.
One of the beneficiaries,  Mrs Tabita Saba, who appreciated the gesture, also called on government to look at the rural farmers and come up with policy that would favour them as they contribute their qouta to the nation’s economic.
