Food security: Zazzau farmers’ loud support from APPEAL

Farmers under the auspices of Zazzau United Farmers Association have appreciated Agro-processing Productivity Enhancement and  Livelyhood Support  (APPEAL) project for support to enhance farming activities to boost food Security.

Our correspondent reports that the farmers group was formed by 6 clusters in the Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna state on Friday.

Some of the farmers interviewed at a one day  ‘Brown  Field Dayfor Maize Value Chain’ organized by the Project (APPEALS) held at Yaskwake village in the area thanked the group for the support with Farm input such as improved seed of maize value chain, fertilizer and Pesticides among other inputs.

Speaking at the occasion, a farmer from Boys cluster, Alhaji Adamu Aliyu Shika, said that the support by the group was unquantifiable.

Early speaking, the state Coordinator of the project,  Dr Yahaya Aminu commended the farmers for judicious use of the inputs .

The Coordinator represented by Productivity enhancement Specialist, Dr Adamu Yakubu said that his project was proud of the farmers for reciprocating the gesture accorded them by his project

Dr Aminu the pointed out further that the idea of supporting the farmers was to improve their business investment in the value chain (maize) for commercial purposes.
