Forum hails Ganduje for inquiry into Kano children kidnap

Islamic Forum of Nigeria, has commended Kano state Governor Abdullahi  Umar for inaugurating  a commission of inquiry to investigate and determine the number of children kidnapped as well as the infringement of the rights of the nine rescued children.

The forum in a communiqué issued at the end of a meeting to review the circumstances surrounding the kidnapping of the children, Friday in Kano, also praised  the Nigeria Police and the Special Anti-kidnapping Squad, and in particular the Kano state Commissioner of Police, Mr Ahmad Iliyasu, for their professionalism leading to the arrest of the culprits.

The communiqué signed by the forums Deputy National Chairman of the Forum, Alhaji M. T. Bello, and Chairman, Communiqué Committee, Dr Saidu Ahmed-Dukawa, respectively, called on security agencies to intensify the search for all other abducted children.

The meeting further called on the Kano state government to respond to the clarion call for the relocation of the Sabon Gari Luxurious Motor Park to the outskirts of Kano for effective monitoring.

They urged individuals, Non-governmental organisations (NGOs), Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), Community Based Organisations (CBOs) and Faith Based Organisations (FBOs) in the state to reciprocate the government’s gesture by submitting memorandum to the commission of inquiry.
