Foundation donates books worth N150m to Gombe state

Gombe state Governor Mohammadu Inuwa Yahaya effort to improve the education sector in the state has received a boost with a donation of  4,000 assorted text books for Primary and Secondary Schools worth over N150,000 by Learn Africa Education Foundation in collaboration with Longman Publishers.

This was contain in a Press statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant on media, Samaila Uba Misilli, and made available to Journalists, said the donation was facilitated  by a renown  educationists and former Provost of Isa Kaita College of Education, Katsina, Dr Kabir Ahmed.

Dr. Ahmed who is the chairman and Chief Executive of KHABICO Ltd said the gesture was in line with his strong belief in the importance of education in shaping the life.

While making the presentation through his stepson Alh Muhammad Ahmed, he described education as a catalyst for development especially now that the world has turned to a global village.

Receiving the textbooks on behalf of the state Government, the Chief of Staff to the Governor,  Alhaji Kabir Usman Kukandaka expressed appreciation for the kind gesture and assured of judicious distribution of the books.

Alhaji Kukandaka however use the occasion to call on organizations and philanthropists to support government in meeting the numerous needs of the people.
