Foundation donates drugs to Kano hospital

A Kano based charity organisation, Maajin Watari Foundation, has donated drugs worth thousands of naira to Kano hospitals towards boosting the healthcare programmes of the state government under the leadership of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Speaking on the donation in a cremony, Ganduje said his administration placed high premium on the provision of the much needed healthcare for the teaming population in the state in order to improve their living condition, adding that his administration has committed huge resources in making the health sector robust and vibrant.
According to him, the provision of adequate healthcare could only be feasible and realistic with notable individual philanthropists taking the bull by the horns in order to sustain the sector, affirming that, the gesture of Maajin Watari Foundation would serve as a source of inspiration to those willing to tread the path of assisting humanity.
Ganduje, who was represented by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Kabiru Ibrahim Getso, stated that his government was committed to sustaining the tempo of entrenching a formidable healthcare system in the face of competing demands being faced by his government.
Speaking on the importance of charity in Islam, a renowned Islamic scholar and Chief Imam of Murtala Juma’at Mosque in Kano, Sheikh Kabiru Badamasi Dantaura, stressed the need for individual philanthropists to consider the need for assisting humanity, for them to reap the reward in the hereafter, adding that the resolve exhibited by governor Abdullahi Umar Gsnduje in boosting the health sector was commendable.
On his part, the Chairman, Maajin Watari Foundation, Alhaji Abba Ahamed said his Foundation had executed a lot of development projects, ranging from renovation of classrooms, building of Islamiyya schools and drilling of bore holes, in addition to footing the bills of patients undergoing medical attention at Kabo hospital for a period of two years.
