Foundation donates library to Benue community

The founder of Tanimu Foundation and a medical doctor based in United States of America, Dr.
Sabo Tanimu, has donated an ultra-modern library to the community in the North Bank area of Makurdi, Benue state.
Tanimu’s organisation has impacted positively on the poverty ridden North Bank community over the years in its various forms of human development designed to take poor children off the streets.
But, in his latest outing, Tanimu stressed the need to impact on the densely populated Hausa community where he had his early years of education to enhance the people’s welfare.
“The North Bank community has been ravaged by some of the worst social vices in Benue state.
These activities are unfortunately carried out by our youths.
Some of the menaces include, drug use, cultist activities with senseless killing of citizens, lower level of education, unemployment, unwanted pregnancies, to mention a few.
“I strongly believe that minds that are positively engaged in profitable ventures would be most likely devoid of violence and criminality.
In view of this fact, Tanimu Foundation has, for the past years, selflessly and tirelessly provided the training opportunities to the youth to discover their potentials and human values,” Tanimu said.
He added that the solar powered library equipped with modern art facilities to the community was in tandem with the core belief of his foundation to make knowledge accessible to the teeming members of our community.
“We hope that this library will ignite the passion for reading among the youths within this community and the state at large.
It’s my belief that there are many geniuses here to be discovered.”
