Foundation makes case for African arts

As part of efforts geared towards promoting and wooing investors for African arts, the Elikiba foundation said it has launched its online platform tagged “Elikiba arts”.

Founder of the platform, Mr. Ebiuwa Ebvuomwan, said the foundation had partnered with the Benin bronze casters guild in Edo State  to showcase African arts and tell their stories.

Ebiuwa stated this during Elikiba Arts exhibition, auctions and fairs held in Benin-City which according to him, was an exclusive forum for art collectors and artists, including painters and sculptors.
He urged Nigerians to dismiss the wrong notion about African arts, adding, “it’s is a thing to treasure.”

The best of Benin bronze sculptures were on display, and showcased to hundreds of guests which included a Dutch photojournalist with Panos Pictures London, Mr Petterik Wiggers.

Secretary of Benin bronze casters, Eric Ogbemudia, said art is the creative mind that “God has given to us.”
