Foundation offers free education to over 30 orphans in Zamfara

The Zakkat and Sadaqat Foundation (ZSF), a Lagos-based charity organization has offered free educational support to over 30 orphans and less-privileged children in Zamfara.

The executive-director of the Foundation, Sulayman Olagunju, while presenting the annual financial support to the 2022 beneficiaries of the foundation in Gusau Monday, pointed out that the gesture was aimed at helping the orphans and children of less-privileged.

“Over 30 pupils from both Qur’anic and Western education schools are currently benefitting from the scholarship.

“This is part of the major activities of the organization aimed at supporting the orphans and less-privileged children to have access to Qur’anic and western education in the state”.

He said that the foundation was being funded through the zakkat and Sadaqat from well-meaning individuals.

“Our foundation give much emphasis on vulnerable people that was why we had to travel all the way from Lagos to Zamfara for this annual event to identify the students we are already sponsoring”, he added.

Olagunju said that after the Qur’anic memorisation exercise, the participants would be sponsored to further their Qur’anic and Western education.

He urged the students to embark on regular recitation of the Holy Qur’an and use it as a guide to their day-to-day activities and concentrate on their studies.

The executive-director commended the teachers and parents of the children for their efforts in giving good training of their children.

Earlier, Coordinator of the foundation in the state, Alhaji Ibrahim Tudu, thanked the leadership of the group for the gesture.

Tudu said that orphans and children of the less-privileged, comprising males and females from three schools were already enjoying the foundation’s scholarships.
