Foundation partners donor agencies to empower Bauchi women

As part of efforts geared towards promoting and protecting the rights of women and girls in Nigeria, a Bauchi based NGO, Attah Sisters Helping Hand Foundation (ASHH Foundation) has announced the commencement of a 5-year empowerment  project in Bauchi state. 

Announcing the commencement of the project in Udubo community of Gamawa local government area of Bauchi state,  executive director of the foundation, Mrs Comfort Attah said the  5- years project, is focusing  on empowering 1000 women, especially at the rural level, towards  peace building and livelihood skills that can enable beneficiaries to be economically active and relevant in leadership and governance. 

Mrs. Attah said the intervention would also focus on exposing 200 women and girls each year in Dambam and Gamawa LGAs of Bauchi state adding that, “in the five years period, a total of 1000 women will be targeted to create opportunities through the Village Savings and Loans Activity (VSLA) in order to make them active and relevant in leadership and governance.”
